Layers
I created Layers in conjunction with Liquid Hymn, my first solo show at 1 AM Gallery in San Francisco (no longer on the website). As I cut out paper for the texture, the negative shapes reminded me of topographical maps, cellular structures, and other natural patterns. I assembled the scraps into a finished piece and liked the way it looked, eventually making a full series.

PROCESS
While making Liquid Hymn, I worked in the basement of my apartment and would find these little guys crawling across the floor. It's called a Jerusalem cricket.
